About
The Artist
Alex Manfredini has spent more than thirty years behind the camera, dedicating his life to the art of photography. Based in Florida, USA, his career has been defined by a singular, unwavering pursuit: capturing the poetry of light as it meets the human form.
Beginning his journey in the early 1990s, Manfredini quickly distinguished himself in the fields of boudoir, glamour, and erotic art photography — disciplines he has consistently elevated to the level of fine art. His approach is rooted in classical aesthetics yet unmistakably contemporary, drawing inspiration from Renaissance painting, film noir, and the great European tradition of art photography.
Working almost exclusively in black and white, Manfredini strips away the superficial to reveal what he considers photography's truest elements: form, texture, emotion, and the infinite conversation between shadow and light. His images are characterized by their technical precision, emotional depth, and an almost painterly quality that has earned comparisons to the work of Helmut Newton, Jeanloup Sieff, and Edward Weston.
His work has been exhibited internationally — including Bulgaria and Nude Basel in Miami — and is held in private collections across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and South America.
All sessions are on location. Manfredini is available to travel — logistics and expenses arranged with the client. Commissions are subject to artistic alignment and availability.
Artistic Philosophy
I believe photography is an act of listening. Before the shutter opens, there is a silence — a moment of attention where the photographer must be fully present. The camera does not create; it receives. My role is to prepare the space, shape the light, and then step back enough to allow something genuine to emerge.
The nude has been central to art since antiquity, and I believe it remains one of the most profound subjects available to the artist. When approached with respect, sensitivity, and genuine artistic intent, photographing the human form is an act of celebration — a declaration that the body is worthy of the same reverence we afford landscape, architecture, and the natural world.
Every image I create is built on a foundation of trust. The relationship between photographer and subject is sacred ground, and I never forget that someone has chosen to be vulnerable in my presence. This awareness informs every creative decision.
Artist Statement: Luminance Collection
My work is a testament to the pursuit of creative freedom in a world of constraints.
Over three decades of capturing the human form, I have navigated the tension between pure artistic expression and the "arrows in the back" — the pressures of survival, the shifting standards of public morality, and the constant need to justify why the nude remains one of the most profound subjects available to the artist.
This collection, Luminance, is not a cry of resentment, but a celebration of the moments where passion became the sole axis of existence. It is an acknowledgment of the scars that pushed me to find light in the dark, and a deeply grateful Carpe Diem to the life that allowed me to transform those challenges into an untouchable legacy of erotic art.
These twelve pieces are the raw remnants of a creator who chose to remain enamored with the process, regardless of the cost. Each image is built on a foundation of trust between photographer and subject — sacred ground where vulnerability is honored, not exploited.
Luminance represents the culmination of this philosophy. Light, in my work, is not merely illumination — it is language. It sculpts, reveals, conceals, and transforms. It is the conversation between what is seen and what is felt, between the physical body and the ineffable spirit it houses.
Every photograph here is a declaration: that the body is worthy of the same reverence we afford landscape, architecture, and the natural world. That to photograph the nude with respect, sensitivity, and genuine artistic intent is an act of celebration — a recognition of beauty in its most essential form.
This collection is my legacy. Not because it is perfect, but because it is honest.
